Treating Liver Cancer
In the past 20 years, the prevention and treatment of liver cancer have advanced tremendously and there is more hope for people diagnosed with this disease. Liver cancer can now often be prevented, detected earlier than before, and effectively treated with options available for the different stages.
For each individual, the possible benefits of the treatment options must be balanced with the risk of liver failure and the treatment's effects on the person's quality of life. The most common treatment options are described in the following pages:
