Worrying About Disease Transmission

Worrying about transmitting the infection to loved ones: Respondents explained how much they worry about the possibility of infecting their loved ones, even during their daily activities, and why this shapes how they show and receive love, and eventually impacts their psychological wellbeing.

Findings:

  • 40% worry about transmitting the virus to others.

One participant said “because it is a highly contagious disease, it always worries me a lot about who has it, who I’ve infected and who may I pass it on to going forward? And that’s always been in the back of my mind.”

Take action:

  • Make sure your close contacts are vaccinated will help you feel less concerned about transmitting the virus.
  • Learn more about how hepatitis B is and isn’t transmitted, and educate others – knowledge is power!
