In the future, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) will decide if all adults in the U.S. should be vaccinated against hepatitis B. In the U.S., just 30% of all adults have received all doses of the hepatitis B vaccine – one of the most effective ways to prevent primary liver cancer.

With up to 2.4 million Americans living with chronic hepatitis B and a rising number of acute hepatitis B cases, a failure by the Committee to recommend universal adult hepatitis B vaccination would be a missed opportunity to stem the tide of spikes in hepatitis B infections across the country and will be harmful to the elimination of viral hepatitis inequities in the U.S.

A universal adult hepatitis B recommendation is critical in addressing the consistently low adult hepatitis B vaccination rates and eliminating viral hepatitis in the United States. Please sign on to the petition
