World Hepatitis Day
Every year on July 28, people around the globe celebrate World Hepatitis Day in honor of Dr. Baruch Blumberg’s birthday. Dr. Blumberg discovered the hepatitis B virus in 1967 and subsequently developed the hepatitis B vaccine two years later. The Hepatitis B Foundation commemorates World Hepatitis Day by raising awareness about viral hepatitis. With almost 300 million individuals living with hepatitis B worldwide, it is extremely important to bring awareness to this preventable and treatable disease.
Please join us as we celebrate World Hepatitis Day and the legacy of Dr. Baruch S. Blumberg!
You are cordially invited to join us for two meaningful events this July as we honor the extraordinary legacy of Dr. Baruch S. Blumberg, Nobel Laureate and global health pioneer, and commemorate World Hepatitis Day.
