Workshop Description
- HBV Research Priorities 2000 - Summaries
Since 1995, the Hepatitis B Foundation sponsored the first annual
Princeton Workshop to promote discussion about hepatitis B treatment
among the nation's leading hepatitis scientists and clinicians.
It has since become a prestigious workshop that meets every year
in Princeton, NJ, to discuss therapeutic therapies for hepatitis
B.
A small group of the leading thought leaders and decision
makers from academia, industry and government are invited by the
Hepatitis B Foundation to participate. Those who are invited
make it a priority to attend the Princeton Workshop because
it is such a unique meeting in the otherwise very crowded conference
schedule.

The Princeton Workshop continues to be such a success because
of the small group of high-caliber participants; the emphasis is
on lively discussions rather than formal presentations; and an unusual
freedom in the exchange of ideas since there are no written
proceedings of the discussions (other than brief summaries in the
HBF's B Informed newsletter).
Meetings are held in the heart of historic Princeton at the Nassau
Inn, which is across the street from Princeton University. All invited
participants are provided with free lodging and meals for the two-day
Workshop, and there is no registration fee.
HBV
Research Priorities 2000
The first National
Research Priorities for Hepatitis B was generated
by the workshop participants in 2000. Each year, new research ideas
are generated and exciting collaborations among the participants
are pursued. The Princeton Workshop continues to be highly innovative
because it brings together the nation's best minds in science and
medicine to focus solely on the treatment of hepatitis B.
The Hepatitis B Foundation's Research Priorities 2000 will be used
in the development of the new NIH Liver Disease Research Branch's
strategic action plan. For more information about the new NIH
Liver Disease Branch, click here.
