5th Annual Holiday Food Drive Sponsored by the Hepatitis B Foundation and PA Biotechnology Center

DOYLESTOWN, PA (December 14, 2011) – At a time when donations to food pantries are at a low point, the Hepatitis B Foundation and Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center are doing their part by collecting a record-number (1,185 pounds) of non-perishable food items for the Bucks County Housing Group food pantry.  Teams competed to bring in a wide variety of food from cereals, pasta, canned fruit, baby food and much more!  This is the fifth consecutive year that the professional staff, scientists, and entrepreneur companies who work at the Center participated in this community outreach effort.  Moody Movers of Doylestown and Pina’s Pizza of Chalfont were generous partners in the 18-day holiday food drive. Moody Movers again this year provided a truck and drivers to transport the food to the panty. Pina’s Pizza of Chalfont will provide a pizza lunch at the Center to the winning team that collected the largest amount of donations.  The winner will be announced at the annual Holiday Celebration on Friday, December 16, 2011.

About the Hepatitis B Foundation: The Hepatitis B Foundation, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2011 as the global authority dedicated to eradicating hepatitis B,  is the only national nonprofit organization solely dedicated to finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected with hepatitis B worldwide through research, education and patient advocacy. It is headquartered in the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center, which it created to accelerate its research mission. To learn more, visit www.hepb.org  or call (215) 489-4900.
