U.S. Treatment Algorithm

A panel of nationally-respected U.S. hepatologists (liver specialists) developed a comprehensive treatment algorithm for chronic hepatitis B that was published in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, February 2004 then updated in July, 2006 and October 2008. These guidelines also support the AASLD 2007 updated HBV Practice Guidelines.

This algorithm aims to assist treating physicians in answering the practical questions of HBV management based on available evidence; however, where data are lacking, the panel relied on clinical experience and consensus expert opinion.
