STEER
Fellowships
All qualified college graduates who are not employed by a pharmaceutical
company are eligible to apply for the Hepatitis B Foundation’s
STEER Fellowship, which is a training program where individuals
work fulltime (and receive a salary) for at least one year in a
research setting. Fellows are supervised and mentored by a professional
scientist from the Institute
for Hepatitis and Virus Research, the Hepatitis B Foundation
Lab, or the Drexel
Institute. This program is made possible by a grant from the
U.S. Department of Education.
Upon successful completion of the training program, and with the
recommendation of their scientific advisor, STEER fellows are then
eligible to apply for enrollment in scientific studies leading to
a doctoral degree from the University of Oxford. The Hepatitis B
Foundation has the unique privilege of sponsoring one of only two
such U.S. training programs with the internationally renowned University
of Oxford – the first program was started at The Scripps Institute,
La Jolla, CA. For more information, please contact the Hepatitis
B Foundation at info@hepb.org.
