2009 Hepatitis B-Informed Patient Conference

9th annual B Informed Patient Conference, the only national conference of its kind, focused on the care and management of chronic hepatitis B.



SPEAKERS

Dr. Timothy Block Timothy Block, Ph.D.
President/Co-Founder, Hepatitis B Foundation and Professor, Drexel University College of Medicine

Dr. Block has been involved in viral hepatitis research for more than 20 years and is internationally recognized for his scholarship and scientific contributions. He is a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Drexel University College of Medicine, and Director of the Drexel Institute for Biotechnology and Virology Research.

Dr. Michael Fried Michael W. Fried, M.D.
Professor of Medicine and Director of Hepatology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Dr. Fried has been involved with clinical and laboratory studies of hepatitis for more than 20 years and the principal investigator on numerous clinical trials of various antiviral agents for chronic hepatitis B and C.

Dr. W. Thomas London W. Thomas London, M.D.
Medical Advisor and Board Member, Hepatitis B Foundation, and Sr. Member, Fox Chase Cancer Center

Dr. London has been a leader in hepatitis B research for decades and was part of the research team that discovered the hepatitis B virus. He specialized in researching how hepatitis B leads to liver cancer, and was Director of the Liver Cancer Prevention Center that screened and followed thousands of individuals living with chronic hepatitis B.

Dr. Mack Mitchell Mack C. Mitchell, M.D.
Chief, Division of Gastroenterology, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

Dr. Mitchell is an international authority on both basic and clinical research in liver disease, primarily in the areas of drug-induced liver damage and viral hepatitis. His scientific research has been published in a wide array of scientific papers, journals and texts and he is listed in the "Best Doctors in America".

Dr. Kenneth Rothstein Kenneth Rothstein, MD
Chief, Division of Gastroenterology, Drexel University College of Medicine

Dr. Rothstein is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, with a specialty in Hepatology. He is an accomplished author of book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals, and a sought-after expert speaker on hepatitis B and C.
